Groupe ISCAE and Long Island University strengthen their strategic cooperation in New York
A delegation from Groupe ISCAE, led by Pr Tarik El Malki, Director General of Groupe ISCAE, and Pr Mohamed Amine Issami, Director of Development, International Relations, and Communication, traveled to New York on July 18, 2026, for a working meeting with Long Island University (LIU).
Founded in 1926, Long Island University is among the leading private universities in the United States. Located on its Brooklyn and Post (Long Island) campuses, it hosts several thousand students and is distinguished by its interdisciplinary approach, academic excellence, and commitment to research and innovation. Its educational offerings include management, health sciences, engineering, data science, emerging technologies, and social sciences. Through its School of Business, Public Administration and Information Sciences, the university develops recognized programs in management, finance, entrepreneurship, information systems, and digital transformation, with a strong focus on integrating artificial intelligence into management practices, decision support, and organizational innovation.
The delegation was received by Pr Mohammed Cherkaoui, Endowed Chair Professor at Long Island University, Executive Director of the Dassault Systèmes Center of Excellence in Life Sciences, member of the Hassan II Academy of Science and Technology and an internationally renowned scientific figure. Ranked among the 2% most influential researchers worldwide according to the Stanford-Elsevier ranking since 2020, Pr Cherkaoui is the author of more than 200 scientific publications and several reference works published by John Wiley and Springer. Throughout his career, he has held prominent academic positions at the Georgia Institute of Technology, at Mississippi State University, and at Long Island University, where he currently leads multidisciplinary research programs in artificial intelligence, biomaterials, digital twins, precision medicine, and
health technologies. His work, funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), the U.S. Department of Energy (DoE), the European Commission, and several industrial partners, has secured over 50 million dollars in research funding.
The discussions identified several priority areas for cooperation between the two institutions, notably the development of joint academic programs and dual degrees, the implementation of high-impact collaborative research projects, and the launch of joint initiatives in artificial intelligence, including the creation of a dedicated international structure. This shared vision is based on the convergence of the two institutions’ expertise in digital transformation and artificial intelligence applied to management, finance, health, and industry, with the ambition to develop interdisciplinary projects addressing major economic and societal challenges.
This meeting concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking a major step in the development of Groupe ISCAE’s international relations and establishing an official framework for cooperation with Long Island University in the fields of training, research, innovation, and knowledge transfer.
The next steps will involve establishing working groups responsible for structuring the identified areas of collaboration and defining an operational timeline for the implementation of the actions outlined in the MoU, with the ambition to develop high value-added projects for the benefit of both institutions and their academic communities.
